My uncle always told me that when you buy something new, you get what you pay for.
When I was a child, I never had any idea what he was talking about.
It just never made much sense to me. Now that I’m a little older, though, I can definitely see what my uncle meant. The perfect example of this is when I had to buy a new HVAC system last year. The HVAC system that was previously in my house had completely broken down. I guess it was a really old HVAC system, and I guess it had just run its course. When the HVAC went out, it was in the middle of the summer. The temperature outside was in the hundreds that week and I can remember being so miserable in the heat. So instead of waiting around and trying to get a good quality HVAC worker out to my house to fix the HVAC system, I went with the quickest and cheapest HVAC company in town. They were able to come out to the house super quickly because they didn’t have any other appointments lined up. I know that should have been my first clue! The HVAC workers didn’t charge me very much for fixing my HVAC system. I think it’s because they didn’t really spend that much time on it! And I found out after I got the bill that it was because they didn’t even fix it! The HVAC worked for a couple of months after they came to the house and then it broke on me again.
