I recently started my internship in a hospital as a section of my training in nursing school.
I have been in nursing school for more than 2 years now but I am happy to finally get into the hospital plus beginning researching with actual doctors. It’s not that I know my teachers aren’t smart, it is just that hands on research is the best way to learn. Everyday I am discovering something new plus I enjoy all the doctors because they know so much about medicine. However, a single thing I learned that I was not expecting is that the hospital has strict requirements when it comes to their HVAC system. The hospital is required to have the HVAC plan set to a certain temperature because of the delicate equipment; Also, the thermostat must constantly be set to a cold temperature because un-even temperatures breed germs plus the hospital must be stable environment for all the sick patients that are recovering. If the HVAC plan isn’t set to the right temperature than patients might get worse diseases than they came in with plus the medical devices might not last as long. I like working in the hospital compared to the classroom, but it is constantly extra cold. I am still getting used to the cold temperatures. I don’t know that I will ever get used to these frigid temperatures because it is almost impossible to walk around with jacket on as it might bet soiled.
